Dorothy J. Dreyer of Chester, NY, a retired secretary of the Chester Union Free School District for almost 30 years, and a 53 year resident of the area, died January 19, 2022, at the Kaplan Family Hospice, in Newburgh, NY.
She was 77 years of age.
The daughter of the late Dominic and Dorothy DiMaggio, Dorothy was born April 4, 1944, in Bronx, NY.
Dorothy was a Parishioner at St. Columba Church.
She was a member of the Golden Age Club. Dorothy also formerly served on the Chester Library Board, St. Columba Ladies Auxiliary, and Meals on Wheels. She also served as President of the Mothers Club for St. Columba School.
She is the Widow of Daniel Francis Dreyer
Dorothy is Survived by her children, James Dreyer of Walker Valley (wife Carol Dreyer), Lynda McKeon of New Hampton (husband Anthony McKeon), Daniel Dreyer of Hamburg (wife MaryBeth Dreyer), and Nancy Green of Chester (husband Kevin Green), her sister, Marie Caiazza, her brother, Peter DiMaggio and his wife Betty.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Katelyn, Allyson, Daniel, Michael, Joseph, Elizabeth, Jillian, Emily, David, Kenneth and Lily.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, during the hours of 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc, located at 139 Stage Road, NY 10950.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Columba RC Church, on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 10:00 am, located at 27 High Street, Chester NY 10918
Burial will follow at St. Columba Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas & Brendan Flynn and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc.
