Earl "the Pearl" Martini June 21, 1946 - August 4, 2012 Earl Martini after a courageous two year battle with cancer went to be with the Lord on August 4. He was born in Middletown, the youngest son of Irene and Joseph. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of over 30 years, Linda; his children, Mark, Brian, Carrie, David, Nicole Martini-Cardona, Brittany Martini-Culligan and husband Ryan, grandchildren Ryan, Stephanie, Joshua, Tyler, William, Alexis, Landon, Emily, Stephen, Samantha, Kathryn, Nathaniel, and Logan; brothers Richard and wife Doris Martini, Joseph (Curly) and wife Hildegard Martini, sister Betty Knight, sister-in-law Ellen Martini; mother-in-law Elsie Manco, sister-in- law Barbara Manco and brother-in-law Bob and wife Sarah Manco, four great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers David, Wally, and Harry, brother-in-law James Knight and son-in-law Marcus Cardona. He was a printer at the Times Herald Record for 33 years. He deeply loved his family and friends. Earl was well known for his wit and happy-go-lucky, free spirit. He loved the Lord, fishing, hunting, entertaining, painting, gardening, the Jets and the Mets, vacations in Florida. He loved playing cards with his buddies, antiquing, and hanging with family as he puttered on the house in upstate NY. Sincere appreciation is extended to all his family and friends who stayed by his side throughout his ordeal and to those who took him for a ride for the infamous cup of coffee. The family would like to thank - Mike Waller for driving Earl and Linda for appointments at Sloan and organizing "Team Martini"; their friends of "Team Martini", Dr. Mellinghoff (especially secretary Bridgette), Dr. Gutin and staff of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital; Dr. Mueller and staff at Phelps; Dr. Jones of Hudson Valley Neurosurgical Associates; Dr. Hui and secretary, Honey; Orange Regional Medical Center staff, Wal-Mart and AccuCare pharmacies; Hospice of Orange County (Frank, Suzanne, Susan); and the aides (especially granddaughter Stephanie) and staff at Middletown Park Manor - for their skills and compassionate care. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 19th at 1:30 at the Bread of Life Assembly of God church, 2876 Route 17K, Bullville, NY 10915, with Pastor Bert Lloyd officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
