Gaspare Crescimanno

Gaspare Crescimanno, of New Windsor, N.Y., formerly of Chester, N.Y. and Polk City, F.L., died at the age of 86 after a long struggle with heart disease and diabetes. Sonny was the owner of Atom Blower Air Conditioning and Ventilation in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Monroe, N.Y. He was well known as the Silver Fox to his CB radio buddies, whom he remained friends with for over 45 years. He was a master craftsman and enjoyed building radio control airplanes and biplanes. He was a member of the AMA. He had a strong will, a good sense of humor, and big heart. Grandpa Sonny enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Sonny is survived by his wife, Catherine (Kay) of 67 years. Survivors also include their children, Dominic (Beth) Crescimanno of Chester, Ginny (Marty) Vanderheide of Slate Hill, Gaspare (Kristine) Crescimanno of Warwick; grandchildren, Francis Crescimanno, Doreen (Mike) Iovine, Michelle (Sean) Pfanzelter, Jessica (Dan) Barry, Jonathan Vanderheide, Gianna Crescimanno; as well as his great-grandchildren, Kenley, Oliver, Leah, Lucia, Hailey and Madeline. He was predeceased by his daughter, Doreen Crescimanno and brothers Dominic (Junior) Crescimanno and Joseph (Joey) Crescimanno. He will also be missed by his sisters, Rosie Lodato, Bessy Troisi, Marion Scelso, Janet McNellis and brother Anthony Crescimanno. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 10th at 10:00 AM at the Queen of Apostles Chapel, located at 98 Harriman Heights Road, Monroe, N.Y., 10950. A Celebration of his Life will follow in the Convent meeting hall immediately following. Sonny's cremated remains will be interred at St. Mary's Cemetery in Washingtonville, N.Y., at a later date. Memorial contributions in Sonny's memory may be made to either the American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's Association.
