Hope Grace Pittinger of Monroe, NY, died peacefully on January 13, 2023, at her granddaughter's residence with her family by her side. She was 73 years of age.
The daughter of the late Roland and Agnes DeSerio, Hope was born in Hackensack, NY, on July 7, 1949
Hope was the wife of Gregory Pittinger and was married for fifty years.
She is survived by her beloved husband Gregory at home and their children Gregory Pittinger Jr. and Teresa DeFreese, along with her husband Edward DeFreese Jr., both of Washingtonville, NY.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Clarissa Sullivan, her husband Darab Sullivan and Ashley Keenan, and her husband Michael Keenan Jr., along with her great-grandchildren Ariana Marie Sullivan aka the ripper, and Addison Rylee Keenan, aka little lady.
She is also survived by her sibling's sister Winifred Ludwig, the wife of George Ludwig (both deceased); Sister of Edwina Mackey, the wife of Joesph Mackey; Sister of Catherine Jennings (deceased); Sister of Dominick DeSerio, husband of Renate DeSerio, Sister of Faith Bass, sister of Grace Jennings, the wife of Roland Jennings, sister of Regina Thorne (deceased), sister of Albert Thorne the husband of Anita Thorne (both deceased), and sister of Thomas Thorne (deceased) and the husband of Dorothy Thorne.
Her nieces and nephews are Dawn Jennings, Billy Cruger, Diane Ludwig, Scott Ludwig, Bella Torres, Ian Mackey, Joesph Mackey, Andy Mackey, Andrea Jennings, Eric Jennings, Crystal Jennings and Roland Jennings(deceased), Ronald Jennings and plenty of other great nieces and nephews.
Hope will always be remembered for her loving, caring, and nurturing side. Hope loved to play cards and gamble with her sisters and family on the weekends. Hope was always the rock of the family and the person to go to for anything and everything. Hope Will truly be missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Mary's R.C Church, 42 Goshen Avenue, Washingtonville, NY 10992.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 2 Fr. Tierney Circle, Washingtonville, NY 10992.
Funeral care is under the direction of Thomas & Brendan Flynn and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers.
