Howard E. Jeffers of Conway, South Carolina a former longtime resident of Chester, New York died on August 9. 2016 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City, NY. Howard was 67 year of age. The only child of Howard and Alice Jeffers he was born in New Jersey in 1949. Howard attended Roselle Catholic High School and Seton Hall University and Western Connecticut State University; he also served his Country in the United States Navy on the Destroyer William R. Rush from 1968 to 1972. He worked for Pius XII Youth and Family Services working as a child advocate for the disadvantaged youth after his retirement he then went to work for the Volunteers of America caring for the homeless. Howard was pre-deceased by his parents, brother in law Frank Piliere and father in law F. Robert Piliere. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Daria P. Jeffers at home, his mother in law Rosemarie Piliere and his in laws; Nadine Piliere, Michael and Donna Piliere, Rose and Ed Gallagher, Robert and Diane Piliere, along with 10 nieces and nephews and 12 grand nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him very much. Howie "How-How", "Choward" was a loving uncle to Sean, Chelsea, Amanda, Emily, Caitlin, Jen and Erica. He was a man who loved his wife, with unwavering love. He was silent in his kindness and always looked out for the people he loved. He was a man of simplicity who rooted for the NY Giants, enjoyed College Basketball, his Cottage in Cape Cod, Islamorada, Florida and a good glass of wine. A kind man who never sought recognition, he marched to his own drummer. Howie we will miss you and love you always. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12. 2016 during the hours of 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church located at 626 County Road, 22, Middletown, New York 10940. Funeral and cremation arrangements have been entrust to Thomas F. Flynn and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950.
