Jeffery Delaney, 61, of Greenwood Lake NY, formerly of Suffern NY, passed away on January 10th at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Warwick NY after a long battle withrespiratory disease.
He was the son of the late James Robert and his loving mother Linda of Osprey FL.
Also survived by his brother Scott and wife Kerry of Warwick N.Y., brother Keith and wife Jennifer and daughter Juliet of Suffern, N.Y., long time girlfriend Lynn Kirsch ofSuffern, N.Y., along with a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins from NY to Florida, who will miss him dearly.
Born Jeffery Robert Delaney at French Hospital in Manhattan N.Y. on July 16, 1961, was raised in Suffern NY.
Growing up Jeff found an affinity with motorcycles, and after graduating high school with a GED, attended American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona FL, where he earned his mechanics certification. Returning to NY, he gained employment with NYS DPW, where he worked for 2 years in their mechanics department.
In 1983, Jeff returned to school and obtained an Associates Degree in Communications and the Media Arts from Rockland Community College, while working as a bartender atnumerous Rockland establishments including Perrunas Restaurant, Villa Fratelli Italian Restaurant, Martys Pub, and the Grand Saloon in Pearl River NY.
In the early 2000s he put his degree to work, joining his brother Scott, a sound designer and engineer at Ascent Media (later acquired by Deluxe Entertainment), a film andtelevision post production company. There he started as a QC operator working for clients such as Sony Pictures, HBO, and Disney, ultimately working his way up to therole of Director of Quality Control for International Content, a position that he held with pride until 2018 when his medical issues forced him into disability.
For his remaining years, while dealing with ever increasing health issues, Jeff still enjoyed his beloved NY Yankees and Giants, always accompanied by his faithful caninecompanion Sami, who was always there, in good times and bad. Through everything, Jeff always made it a point to embrace his connections with friends, family, andneighbors, never once complaining of his struggles.
Jeff's kind heart, loyalty, strength and compassion, will be sorely missed, but forever remembered, by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service is to be planned for sometime in the next few months.
