Michael Whitney Monticello, New York Michael Whitney, a 31 year resident of Monticello, NY died at his home on May 17, 2014. He was 93 years of age. Michael was a retired Bridge and Tunnel Officer who worked for the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority for a period of 25 years. Born and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, he was a U.S. Navy veteran who had been stationed at Pearl Harbor during World War II. Mike loved fishing, nature, the woods and especially the Adirondacks. He was a fun loving man with a great sense of humor who enjoyed being with his family more than anything. Survivors include his wife, Zina Whitney at home; his son Alan Whitney of Monticello, New York who cared for him until the end and his daughter Jill Camastro of Marlboro, New York. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Danielle; Justine; Noelle; Cristal; Ciara and Billy Camastro; his brother Walter Whitney of Wurtsboro, New York as well as his niece Linda Rodgers and his nephews Todd Whitney; Rick Whitney and Lance Whitney. Michael was predeceased by his brother Allen Whitney. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 during the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. located at 3 Hudson Street, Chester, New York 10918. Interment will be held at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas F.
