Teresa Amatucci

April 14, 1919 — April 11, 2012

Teresa Amatucci, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on April 11, 2012. Tess was born on April 14, 1919, to the late Salvatore and Concetta (Mazzeo) Tatta. Though she lost her mother at a young age, she grew up in a large, loving Italian family. She married the late Pasquale Amatucci in 1943 and together they raised two children, with lots of love and lots of great food, and quite a few big parties thrown in the backyard. Tess was also a wonderful grandmother to her granddaughters, fueling their love of both books and animals, and spending countless hours with them dispensing her sage advice and unconditional love. In her later years, Tess was also a good neighbor and friend to other residents at Silk Circle-together, they spent many happy hours outside in the sunshine chatting about life and family. Tess will be missed more than words can say by family, neighbors, and friends. She will be remembered by her children and their spouses: her daughter Patricia (Amatucci) Fornario and husband Frank Fornario, her son Jack and wife Christine (Peles) Amatucci. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Gina and Jana Fornario, Aydee Ovalle, Esther Lopez, and Lisette Reyes. The family thanks those who loved and assisted Tess in her final year, especially Danalia and Aydee who helped keep her safe and happy in her home. A celebration of Tess' life will be held at 1 PM at Round Hill House in Washingtonville, New York, on Sunday, May 6th. We will do the things Tess loved best: share stories, laugh, love, and eat some good food.
