Theresa Ann Romano, a 22-year resident of Middletown, New York died peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 46 years of age. The daughter of Richard and Barbara Schuller, Theresa was born in Queens, New York in the year 1969. Theresa was employed as the Assistant to the Executive Director of the United Federation Teacher's Union in New York City for 17 years. Theresa also taught CCD at night at Holy Cross Church - Our Lady of the Scapular in Slate Hill, New York; even through her sickness. Theresa was all about her family. Whether it was worrying about her husband's health or keeping their daughter in line at school, she was always there to offer them all of her affection, comfort and support. She was a proud wife and mother, nothing could come between her and her family. She loved horses and passed that love down to her daughter, who with great joy she introduced to both riding and competing. Theresa also loved to shop. If she wasn't at home or at the horse show, chances were she was shopping. It didn't matter what she was shopping for, as long as she was out there. Her family affectionately called her a "professional shopper." Toward the end when she barely had the strength to walk to the bathroom, she was still shopping online. Packages will be arriving for months to come. Theresa also loved to decorate, and it shows all throughout her home and yard. She could often be found out "picking" like "American Pickers" with her girlfriends. If someone found something they liked but could not figure out how to display, Theresa was always there to offer advice, it was her knack. She did a lot of travelling with her family, she especially loved to cruise. She never met a person she did not like, everyone was happier after they met her and could never forget her. She was a true angel. Theresa is survived by her loving Husband of 22 years, Richard "Rick" Romano and the light of her life, her daughter, Hailey Renee Romano, at home. She is also survived by her parents, Richard and Barbara Schuller of Floral Park, New York and her sister, Ann Marie Schuller of Floral Park, New York. Additional survivors include her nieces and nephews, Amy Costas; Jacqueline Lewis; Andrew Lewis; Victoria Romano; Holly Ambersite; Nina Romano; Evelyn Romano; Anna Blosser; Billy Decker; Anthony Decker and Dominick DePaulos as well as by her many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, cousins, extended family and wonderful friends.
