Aileen Silver

February 8, 1947 — January 20, 2024

Aileen Silver was born in New York on February 8, 1947, and died peacefully on January 20, 2024, at 76.

Aileen is survived by her daughters Alanna Silver and Beth Pilchik, son-in-law Evan Pilchik, and her grandsons Miles and Matthew, who she loved and brought her great pride and joy.

She is also survived by her brother Barry Balaban and cousins Ed Ashare, Linda Rosenthal, and Ed Balaban, along with many loyal friends and extended family members. Aileen was predeceased by her father, Sigmund Balaban, her mother, Sylvia Balaban, and her brothers, Brett and Mark Balaban.

Aileen was raised in Long Island, graduated from Great Neck South High School, and earned her bachelor’s degree from NYU in 1969.

In 1981, along with Beth and Alanna, Monroe, NY, became their new hometown. In 1983, after Beth moved in with her father, it was Aileen and Alanna side-by-side every step of the way, creating an unbreakable bond to last through eternity.

Aileen founded Possible Solutions, Inc. in the late 1980s to create databases for large medical organizations and school systems.

She was honored by Filemaker multiple times for her creativity and contributions to the system. Throughout those years, she made friendships that have lasted throughout the years.

In 1999, she moved to Cromwell Hill Commons, a community she loved. She served as President of the Board for over 20 years and held the post until her passing.

There was nothing Aileen enjoyed more than spending time with Alanna and being her biggest cheerleader and supporter throughout her life.

She enjoyed playing games (especially Scrabble), learning, reading, good food, sharing her opinions and spending time with family and friends.

Even at the end, she shared smiles and laughs with the ones she loved.

Aileen will be remembered for her spirit and enthusiasm for life and all its opportunities.
