Anna Ilona Kachmarchyk (m. Pekurney) 

Anna I. Kachmarchyk passed away at her home on March 2, 2024, at the age of 96.

Anna was born on August 13, 1927, in New York City. On June 13, 1948, she married William Kachmarchyk in Manhattan.

Anna is pre-deceased by her husband, William Kachmarchyk, who passed away in 1996. She is survived her son Stephen (Rita) Kachmarchyk (also known as Stephen Kay), and granddaughter Katie (Luca) Lopriore.

Anna loved being a secretary, excelling in shorthand and typing. She worked for architects and insurance agents. Her last (and favorite) job for 20 years was as an

executive secretary for the architect I.M. Pei. She loved traveling, especially in the USA, England and her mother's native country, Slovakia. 

Anna loved playing card games with anyone who would play with her, especially playing 'jewelry store' with her granddaughter Katie, whom she cherished.

She will always be remembered for greeting everyone with a smile and her great sense of humor.

Anna will be honored in Monroe, NY, the city where she spent most of her life. The wake will be held at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950, on Friday, March 15th, with visiting hours from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 16th, with visiting hours from 9:00-11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a Lutheran Service in the Funeral Home Chapel.  PLEASE NOTE ALL SERVICES ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY WILL BE BROADCASTED.

Entombment will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery., 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Memorial contributions in Anna name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church 21 Still Road, Monroe, New York 10950 would be appreciated by the family.

The family has entrusted Anna's care to Brendan and Thomas Flynn and the Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center staff.
