Arthur Francis Harkins, Jr.

Arthur (Arty) Francis Harkins Jr., of Verplanck, NY, passed away April 11, 2026. He was 64 years of age.

A lifelong Verplanck resident, Arty is survived by his loving wife, Kristin O’Sullivan-Harkins, and the Son of the late Arthur F., Sr., and Jean Harkins. Born on November 13, 1961, in Peekskill, NY.

Arty was a dedicated member of his community, serving as a longtime member of the Montrose Fire Department and the Buchanan Fire Department.

Arty was a family man; he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Krissy, and his grandchildren. Known for his love of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. Arty also enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and enjoying a cold beer in his backyard. He was the life of every party, where he was known for his sense of humor and unmatched quick wit. 

He is further survived by his children, Amanda Fell and Thomas Ventura; his five grandchildren, Miles, Avi, Grayson, TJ, and Connor; and his sisters, Betty Jean O’Mara, Maureen (Charles) Eichler, and Marlene Harkins-Senik, along with many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his Sister Eileen M. ( Harkins) Wiese, his Brothers in-Law Harold F. O’Mara, William J. Senik, Robert J. Wiese, and his Nephew Shawn M. O’Mara Sr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from the hours of 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the former O'Mara-Carpentieri Funeral Home located at 97 Broadway, Verplanck, NY 10596. 

A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, located at 240 11th Street, Verplanck, NY, 10596. 

Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Final Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Brendan T. Flynn, Thomas F. Flynn, and Megan Morales, Directors and Certified Cremation Specialists of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc.
