Barbara Maria Wansor, aka Bob, Bobbi, Mom, Mommy, Grammy, Gram, Gramsicle, Gigi of Goshen, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 9, 2026, at the age of 84.
The Daughter of the late Anne and William Denton, she was born March 8, 1941, in New York State.
Barbara worked as a Registered Nurse for 30 years and was a 57-year resident of Orange County.
She was a member of Saint James’ Episcopal Church, Goshen, NY, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Cornwall, NY, Warwick Valley Gardeners, OCCC Nursing Student Association, and Union Representative for the Arden Hill Hospital RNs.
Barbara Wansor grew up and lived on Long Island until the mid-1960s. At that time, Bobbi and her husband, Larry, built their dream house in Chester and relocated the family to a home that was surrounded by love, laughter, and dancing. Barbara was an avid reader and lifelong learner; therefore, at the age of forty, she completed her degree in nursing. It was her dream job, and she became well known throughout the community by all the lives she touched through her practice.
In addition to raising a family of four and working full time, Barbara was a crochet artist, a photographer, and a First Mate, enjoying her time on the water. Bobbi loved her home in Orange County, NY, and would also enjoy her trips with Larry to Nantucket, MA, and abroad to places in the Caribbean, Ireland, and Mexico. After her true love left this world in 2007, life was very different. It was a tragedy for Grammy and her family. She persevered by embracing the love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. When Barbara left this world, she broke our hearts, but it was an abundant life lived to the fullest.
Barbara is the Widow of Laurence Tully Wansor.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine (Drew) King of Gorham, Maine, Lisa (Scott) Rittweger of Newburgh, New York, and Deirdre (Larry) Torro of Campbell Hall, New York. She was predeceased by her son, Sean Wansor, and is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Rosy Wansor of Warwick, New York.
She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; the King grandchildren: Brian (Kati), Patrick (Leah), Garrett (Deandra), Annie (Jarrett); the Rittweger grandchildren: Kathryn (Ryan), Lindley (Timothy), Morgan (Chris); the Atlas grandchildren: Angelique, Grace, Maura; the Torro grandchildren: Taylor (Angela), and Connor (Elizabeth); and the Wansor grandchild: Stacy. She is further survived by 8 great-grandchildren, Holland, Lennon, Maren, Adelyn, Ruth, Shiloh, Millie, and Finnian, along with many nieces and nephews, and her sister, Dorothy Kazan of Dix Hills, NY.
