Carol J. Smith

Carol J. Smith, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2023. She was 79 years of age.
Carol was born on January 31, 1944, to the late Robert and Mary (Foley) Johnson in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Grams), great-grandmother (GiGi) and a good friend to many. She was a wonderful woman. Her greatest joy was raising her two boys, Scott and Mark. She spent many years working at Orange Dermatology. Carol loved to cook, spend time with her friends, the Brannigans and the Lindemans, and she loved the beach. She especially enjoyed family vacations at the Jersey Shore. When she retired, she enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports and was their biggest fan.
Carol is survived by her two sons, Scott (Kathleen) Smith of Goshen and Mark (Patricia) Smith of Middletown and her grandchildren, William, Katherine, Erin, Blake (Martin), Asher, and Noah and great-grandchild Rowan.
Carol is also survived by her siblings, Cynthia Lee Johnson, Richard (Jackie) Johnson, Kipp Johnson, Donald (Diane) Johnson and Suzanne (Scott) Kaufman. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband William (Bill) Smith and her beloved brother Robert (Bob) Johnson.
The Smith Family would like to thank Carols caretakers for providing incredible comfort and kindness to her over the last few years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Grams. We love you and will miss you forever. Till we meet again.

A wake will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 during the hours of 4 to 7 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11 AM at St. Columba Church, 29 High Street, Chester and burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, 3335 Route 94, Chester.
