Daniel Francis Lucey, of Rock Tavern, NY, passed away on March 13, 2022. The son of the late Thomas and Mary (Kelleher) Lucey, Daniel was born in County Cork, Ireland, on October 21, 1937. He was predeceased by his sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Casey (Denis) and Sheila Kavanaugh. He emigrated to the United States in 1957, and went on the serve in the United States Army in Korea. He eventually settled in Rock Tavern, NY, to raise his family.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (McKeon), daughters Maryanne (Kevin) Strommer, Sheila (Charlie) Camilleri, Tara (Matt) Kick and son Thomas (Amy) Lucey. His grandchildren; Sebastian, Davan, Megan, Katie, Charles, Gerry, Katharineann, Daniel, Charles, Monica, Danny, and Emma, his brother-in-law John Joe, as well as many nieces & nephews.
He retired from NYC Transit MABSTOA in 1986 after 21 years of service. In his retirement, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family & friends, a cup of coffee and a friendly conversation. He liked working on his property and maintaining his power equipment. He loved the outdoors and spent time cutting wood and maintaining his garden.
Daniel was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and friend. He found immense joy in helping his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services for Daniel will be private. A Celebration of his life will be held on a later date. On behalf of the family, thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time. Cremation will be performed at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc.
