His journey brought him to Newburgh, New York, where he became a devoted counselor for the Kaplan House of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties. It was in this role that David truly flourished, guiding families through the profound experiences of grief and loss with grace and understanding.

Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree, David approached each day with a resolute commitment to his calling. His warm, caring, and considerate nature made him a revered figure among those preparing for the departure of a loved one or grappling with the heartbreak of recent losses. David’s devotion to his work and to the communities he served was a testament to his vibrant spirit and dedication to humanity.

He leaves behind his beloved mother, Carmel A. Ryan of Beacon, N.Y., who can take solace in the impact David had on countless lives. A cremation service will be held on February 27, 2026, at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc. in Chester, NY. Family, friends, and all whose lives David touched are invited to come together as we honor the memory of a man who embodied compassion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts he encountered throughout his life. Although he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to nurture and inspire those who strive to offer comfort in times of sorrow.
