Elizabeth A. Benz, a 60-year resident of Monroe, NY, and recent resident of Bloomingburg, NY, passed away on August 10, 2025, at the age of 85.
The daughter of the late Chris and Emma Coleman, she was born in the Bronx in 1940.
Elizabeth worked as an executive at Xicom Sterling Forest and was the business owner of Galley of Gold. She served on the Christian Service Committee at Sacred Heart Church and helped organize the Annual 25th Wedding Anniversary Mass at Sacred Heart.
Elizabeth was known to her friends as Betty. She loved to make people smile. She was devoted to saying the rosary and serving as a Eucharistic minister. Her faith and prayers helped so many through her novenas. Padre Pio was one of her patron saints, along with the Blessed Mother and St. Theresa.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Erwin J. Benz. She is survived by her children, Erwin Benz (Sandra), Lisa Morales (Ramon), and Christina Bufalini (Gerard); her grandchildren, Anthony Morales, Andrew Morales, Gia Bufalini, Joey Benz, and Nick Benz; and her sisters, Lucille Courtney and Eileen Diamond. She was predeceased by her sisters Rosemary Hagerty and Bernadette Scanlon.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 11:30 am at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe, NY 10950.
Burial will follow at Cemetery of the Highlands, 634-640 NY-32, Highland Mills, NY 10930.
The family entrusted Elizabeth's care to the Flynn family and staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center.
