Gustavo Gabriel Sparovich Jr
July 21, 1991- December 19, 2025
With profound sadness and deep love, we remember Gustavo Gabriel Sparovich Jr. of New Windsor, NY, who passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 34. Gustavo, also known as Gus, was a beloved son, brother, fiancé, friend, and brother in blue whose heart and spirit touched so many.
Gus was born on July 21, 1991, in Goshen, NY, to Gustavo Sparovich, Sr. and Shari Sparovich of Chester, NY. He graduated from Monroe Woodbury High School in 2009. He graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Gus proudly served as a NY State Trooper, committing his life to protecting others with courage, integrity, and selflessness. He took great pride in his role as a Field Training Officer at the Trooper Academy, where he helped train and mentor the next generation of troopers.
Gus enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing video games, painting Warhammer miniatures, cooking, and going for walks with his fiancée and their dog, Gwendolyn. He loved the beach, going to concerts, and smoking meats. His smoked ribs and wings were always a hit. Gus was kind, loyal, and deeply loved. He was someone people could lean on, laugh with, and trust. His presence brought peace, and his love left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Gus is survived by his parents, Gustavo Sparovich, Sr., and Shari Denbigh Sparovich; his brothers, Lucas Sparovich and Sam Sparovich; and his fiancée, Sara Bender. Gustavo is also lovingly remembered by his many cousins, aunts, uncles, and fellow officers.
Gus was predeceased by his brother, Kurtis Sparovich; maternal grandparents, Richard and Lucille Denbigh; and his paternal grandparents, America Villalobos Sparovich and Angel Sparovich.
Though Gus’s life was far too short, his impact was profound. He leaves behind an immeasurable absence, but also a lifetime of love that will never fade. He will be missed beyond words and loved beyond time.
