It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Josephine Peres, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cherished member of the Highland Mills community. She left us on November 15, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was 92 years old.

Born on April 1, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth Walters. A dedicated professional, Josephine served as a Manager for New York Telephone for twenty-five years, exemplifying integrity and dedication in her career. She was a resident of Highland Mills for over thirty-three years.

Josephine was a woman loved by all who knew her. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit will be deeply missed. She was the devoted wife of the late Donald Peres and leaves behind her daughters, Christine Sattler (Rob Sattler, predeceased) and Regina Olivette and her husband Joseph. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Debbie, Kim, Bismark, Bobby, Nicky, Michael, Joey, Vinny, and Dominick—as well as her four great-grandchildren: Adrian, Alexis, Ayla, and Aleana. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her loving siblings who have preceded her in passing.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road, Monroe, NY 10950. A service celebrating her life will commence at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Her inurnment will take place at a later date at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.

Cremation arrangements have been managed by Brendan & Thomas Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Chester, NY.
