Kathryne Daley

Kathryne L. Daley passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at her home in Monroe, NY.
She was just shy of one hundred years old.
Daughter of the late Bartholomew and Mary Louise Dengler, she was born in Minnesota on February 13, 1923.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward P. Daley of Victorville, California, and son Dennis Daley of Oregon.
At 18, Kathryne joined the United States Marine Corps in response to FDRs Infamy Speech, serving with the 3rd Battalion in the USMCWR for three years.
After moving to the High Desert, Kathryne continued her service and became an elementary school teacher.
For 17 years, she taught the children of Del Rey Elementary School in Victorville, CA, before finally retiring in 1979.
Known for her adventuring spirit, Kathryne loved to travel and had visited every US state, every time zone, and over 116 countries.
She is survived by her children, Bart Standorf, Ann OLear, Lise (Patrick) Mahoney, Peter (Susan) Daley, Timothy (Gretchen) Daley, and Eileen Daley, along with her brother Leo Dengler.
Her grandchildren, Ashley (Sebastian) Mahoney, Amy (Aleksander) Mahoney-Curtis, Lauren (John) Giamboi, Casey OLear, Sean (Karie) Daley, Kelly (Jay) Herrera, Jenny (Drew) Sherrard, and Holly (Brad) Barrington survived her.
She is further survived by her seventeen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends she made as she traveled worldwide.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, during the hours of 6 to 8 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe.
Cremation care was completed, at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., under the immediate care and supervision of Thomas & Brendan Flynn.
Funeral Services are under the supervision of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc.
