Linda L. Sager

“Linda worked at the Mental Health Association in Orange County, Inc. (MHA) as a Family Support Education and Training Specialist for two and a half years. Linda came to MHA with lived experience as a parent and was an active board member with NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) for a number of years.

Linda’s primary role at MHA was to support family members who have an adult child with a mental health diagnosis. She facilitated support groups, offered telephone support, provided crisis intervention, and helped locate local resources. Most importantly, she offered individuals and family members hope and conveyed that recovery is a journey.

Her impact continues to touch the lives of families today. Numerous individuals and families have since shared the difference that Linda made in their lives and that Linda was a significant source of support when they felt they had nowhere else to turn. Our human services system has been positively impacted because of the tireless advocacy, passion, and commitment of people like Linda, who believed strongly that the voices of families need to be heard and understood.”
