Louis Clemente

September 15, 1930 — January 21, 2022

Louis Clemente, the beloved son of Maria and Eusebio Clemente was born on September 15,1930 in Manhattan, New York. He was the youngest of four children in the family, which included Carmen, Edward, and Lydia. His studies included learning how to become a tailor, which helped him in his future endeavors. After graduating from high school, Louis enlisted in the Army and Air Force during the Korean War. He served four years and part of that time in Alaska; he shared many stories regarding the frigid temperatures he endured there.
After returning from the military, he began his long courtship with Juanita. Their love story began when he returned to find Juanita engaged to someone else. His love for her, and her love for him was meant to behe won her heart! On June 17,1956 Louis and Juanita were married, and the rest, as they say, is history. Their love story has been a true labor of love!
Louis was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather. His daughter Melinda Joy, son Louis Michael and granddaughter Jadyn were his pride and joy! Louis was the epitome of what a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather was. He was dedicated to providing a "good life" for his wife and children.
Louis worked for the US Postal Service Office at the Manhattan, NY branch for 16 years . He decided to embark on a different journey which led him to The NYC Department of Sanitation, where he worked for 25 years and retired as Assistant Deputy Commissioner under Mayor David Dinkins reign. Louis also followed his passion for "tailoring"( loved his clothes) always looking "dapper". Louis owned Bruckhner Fashions for Men located in Bronx, NY for several years.
In the fall of 1970 Louis and Juanita purchased their family home which was newly built and built to their specifications. Louis and Juanita moved their children into their new home located at 7 Cherrywood Drive in Goshen NY. 10924. This is where Louis lived his life to the fullest, enjoying home ownership for 52 years, and loved every minute of it! From the first snow "blizzard" as he would refer to it, and those first snows were quite the spectacle; a couple of feet of snow was the norm back then, to the parties in the pool to mowing the lawn(which he did up until this summer). Louis loved providing the best life he could for his wife and family!
Louis enjoyed bowling, cruising, baseball, and watching all sports with his son. He enjoyed watching AMC Movie Classics ,singing and listening to Frank Sinatra, and last but not least, he enjoyed being a grandfather to his only granddaughter Jadyn. Louis was so proud of Jadyn as he watched her follow her passion for the performing arts. Louis loved watching Jadyn perform and listening to her sing. Whenever possible, he would attend any show she performed in; he was her biggest fan!
Louis life was full and he was happy!! He was blessed with a long rewarding life. He once said, all he ever wanted to do was to give his wife a good life. The very best life he could give to her and to his children and to his granddaughter.. and he did just that!!
Louis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita, his children Melinda and Louis and his one and only granddaughter Jadyn, sister-in-law Louise and loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Louis was the Epitome of a "Great Man", whom all his family looked up to. He was a "Class Act" Always "Dapper"!! !Louis will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him!!.
The Clemente family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the love comfort and support that has been shown to them by their family and friends during this time of grief. May God Bless You All!!
