Marjorie Armes

February 3, 1931 — December 13, 2020

Marjorie Armes (February 3, 1931 - December 14, 2020) On Sunday, December 14, 2020, Marjorie Armes, lovingly known as Mimi, passed away at the age of 89 years old after battling Alzheimer's for over 10 years. Marjorie is survived by her son-in-law, Scott Green, her grandchildren, Samantha and Stephanie Green, and her sister Elanor Ogden. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sara Green, her sister, Susan Deblock, and her brother, John Lutjens. Marjorie worked for Chester Cable Company as a secretary for over 40 years, where she made many great friends and memories that she shared throughout her lifetime. Marjorie always had a zest for life, which was evident through her sharp sense of humor and smile. Accompanied by her personality were her colorful pant suits and matching accessories, making her difficult to forget. After her retirement, she could be seen driving the streets of Chester in her current sports car, shopping at the mall, visiting with friends, or watching her "soaps." Those who knew Marjorie best know how much she loved her animals, or her "little critters" as she liked to call them. She had many furry companions over the years, all holding a special place in her heart. Her family will especially miss moments spent laughing and baking in the kitchen together. While worsening Alzheimer's symptoms led Marjorie to spend her final years at Valley View Nursing Home, she never lost her spunk or her love for vanilla ice cream. While her memories and cognition faded over time, her family and friends choose to remember Marjorie as the vivacious woman that she always was. Due to the current health crisis, there will be no funeral services at this time. To honor Marjorie's love for animals we ask all that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local humane society or animal shelter. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc. To offer an online memorial please visit www.flynnfh.com.
