Raymond Kyle Lester

Raymond Kyle Lester, a longtime resident of the area, passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut.  He was born in the Bronx, New York, where his love for Family, community, and the New York Yankees took root early and remained with him throughout his life.

Ray's heart found its home just across the street, where he fell in love with MaryAnne, the girl who would become his wife and lifelong partner.  After proudly serving his country in the United States Marine Corps, Ray returned home to build a life grounded in devotion, hard work, and love. Together, Ray and MaryAnne were blessed with four children: Raymond Kyle Lester, Jr. (Katie), Amy (Ken), Emma (Rob), and Sarah (Brian).  His greatest pride was his Family, and he took special joy in the laughter and love of his seven cherished grandchildren.

Ray was predeceased by his beloved parents, Raymond K. Lester and Sarah Lester, and by his sisters, Margaret, Helen, Emma, and Claire, all of whom he held close in his heart throughout his life.

A private Family viewing will be held at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers. Cremation care will be provided by Brendan T. Flynn and the staff of Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, New York.

A Life Celebration honoring Ray's life will be held at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, with the New York City Police Ceremonial Unit conducting services at the funeral home.  The United States Marine Corps will provide military honors at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery. The date of the Life Celebration and the interment at Orange County Veterans Cemetery will be announced in the Spring of 2026.  (The Family is planning for the second week of May 2026)

Ray will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast devotion to his Family, and enduring pride in his country. His life leaves a legacy of love, service, and Family that will continue through generations.
