Ruth Ann Hobencamp

Ruth Ann Hobencamp, a longtime resident of Chester, NY, passed away on April 27, 2026, at the age of 78.

She was born in Passaic, NJ, on November 20, 1947.

Ruth was a devoted housewife and ran the O&H Bait shop. She was also a member of the VFW. 

She is survived by her loving husband, James Hobencamp of Chester, NY; their sons, George W. Hobencamp of Morrison, TN, and James Edwin Hobencamp of Chester, NY; her grandson Dylan Macky; her nieces and nephews, Benjamin, Kandise, Ann Marie, Al, Kayla, Michael, Kyle, Sheri, Mickey, Justin, Tommy, Michelle, and Terry; and her siblings, Richard Ofeldt, Elmer Ofeldt, Judy Hanks, and Debbie Budd.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 9am to 11am at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 3 Hudson Street, Chester, NY 10918.

Burial will follow at Wallkill Cemetery, 160 Midway Road, Middletown, NY 10940.

Final Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Brendan T. Flynn, Thomas F. Flynn, and Megan Morales, Directors and Certified Cremation Specialists of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc.
