Sara Green Chester, New York Sara Green, a proud lifelong resident of Chester, age 53, passed away on December 5, 2017, after a short, but difficult battle with cancer. In her final hours she was surrounded by her loving husband, and her two daughters. She was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, and friend. Sara was born on March 25, 1964, in Goshen, New York, to Marjorie Lutjens and Lawrence Armes. Sara married Scott Green, also a lifelong Chester resident, on September 10, 1988, and built a beautiful life and family together. She is predeceased by her father, Lawrence Armes. Sarah is survived by her husband, Scott, daughters, Samantha and Stephanie, her mother Marjorie, of Chester, and her golden retrievers, Shelby and Sadie, and cats Howard and Lenni. Sara spent most of her life taking care of others, with many years spent as an active member of the Chester Presbyterian Church, being a deacon, elder, and volunteering at their food pantry. Sara's pride and joy were her two girls, as being a mother was her entire life. Anyone who knew Sara knew that they could find her rooting on her girls from the sidelines of the softball field, watching kids and adults fight over her famous chocolate chip cookies. She will forever be remembered as a kind and generous woman. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017during the hours of 5:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday, December 9, 2017, during the from 9:30 AM to 10:30 am at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, Inc., located at 139 Stage Road, Monroe, New York 10950. Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2017, at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Chester, located at 94-96 Main Street, Chester, New York 10918 with Rev. Erin Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in the Chester Community Cemetery (Hill Section). Entrance to the Cemetery is located at 1 Hudson Street, Chester, New York 10918.
