Sheila Marie Moussignac

November 23, 1968 — March 11, 2024


Sheila Marie Moussignac, 55 years old of Middletown New York, was born in Port- Au- Prince Haiti on November 23, 1968 to Roussel Moussignac Sr. and the late Yvonne Virgini Le Grant-Joseph- Moussignac. Sheila Moussignac made her transition away from this world to her Heavenly father GOD ALMIGHTY at the Garnet Health Medical Center on March 11, 2024 at 9:28.pm. Sheila completed her grade school education from grades K-6 in Port-Au- Prince. Haiti. Sheila moved to the United States of America to  Nyack New York and became a naturalized citizen. She continued her education, where she attended the Nyack Junior High School and the Nyack Senior High School. She successfully graduated from The Nyack Senior High School in 1982 with a High Honors Regents Diploma. Sheila continued to excel academically while in attendance at Dominican College in Blauvelt, New York where she majored in Nursing. Sheila completed her undergraduate studies and later received her Masters then Doctorate in Nursing. Sheila then attained her certifications to become a nurse. She demonstrated great passion as an RN, Ph.D. She was a staunch advocate for her patients and would do whatever it took to ensure they received the highest quality of care available to them. This same care for her patients resonated to her family and friends who were close to her. Sheila worked as a supervising nurse for many years after spending time in her earlier years in the field as a hospital nurse and case management R.N., and most recently in a care rehabilitation facility. Sheila was known for going above and beyond her duties. Sheila grew up as a devout Catholic. She received all of her sacraments at the St. Ann's Catholic Church Nyack. She openly expressed her love for GOD. One of her favorite scriptures was psalms 91:11. In her adult years Sheila was re-baptized into the Seventh Day Adeventist Church where she remained a member until her final days on earth. She leaves her beloved daughters; Jessica Nunyala and her husband and son of North Carolina, Tiffany Darbouze of New York, her life partner; Trevor Buckland and his three children of Middletown New York, her father; Mr. Roussel Moussignac of Springfield , Ma. She was predeceased by her late mother Yvonne Virgini LeGrant Joseph Moussignac. Siblings; Predeceased by her oldest brother Roberto Jean-Louis of Haiti, her other brothers; Claude Jean-Louis and his wife Marie Jean-Louis of Jacmel Haiti, Lionel Jean-Louis and wife Ella Jean-Louis of Long Island, New York, Russell Moussignac Jr. and wife Maria E. Moussignac of Springfield, Ma. SISTERS; Florence Lauture and her husband Eddie Lauture of Dundee, Florida and sister; Myrlande Moussignac and her Husband Ahmed of Bronx, New York. Nieces and Nephews ( Ashley Jean-Louis and mother Monet Jean-Louis, of Connecticut, Michael Moussignac of NYC, Adrice Lauture and his wife and their children of Tennessee, Gregory Lauture of Dundee Florida, And Maxime Jean-Louis of Long Island, New York).She also leaves a host of Paternal Family members aunts ( Ketley Moss and husband Jean-Pierre, Brena Jones, the late Ramon Michaud and the late Geralda Michaud all from Brooklyn New York and paternal cousins; Ralph Michaud of Hollywood Florida, the late Burt Michaud of Brooklyn, New York, Ronnie Michaud of Tampa Florida and his wife and children, Ricky Michaud and wife of Brooklyn, New York.) Maternal aunt; the late Guerda Louizor and late husband Ernst Louizor, cousins; Clark Louizor and wife Minouche Louizor and children and the late Tony Louizor, wife and children.


Memorial Visitation will be held with a Life Celebration on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers, 139 Stage Road Monroe, New York 10950. A private burial will follow on March 23, 2024 at the Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield, Ma.


The family of Sheila Marie Moussignac wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the prayers, cares, concerns, and many acts of love and kindness shown by everyone during our time of bereavement.



Brendan and Thomas Flynn provided cremation care at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc.


The family has entrusted Shelia's care to the Flynn Family and Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center staff.
