Stephen Commerford

Stephen Bradley Commerford, age 67, passed away on October 4, 2023, at his home in Middletown, NY. He was born February 26, 1956, in Teaneck, NJ, to parents Robert and Eileen (Duffy) Commerford.
Stephen graduated from Pine Bush High School in 1973. Growing up, he enjoyed working in the family decal shop and took pride in being a Yellow Freight Teamster. No matter the job, he was known for his hard work.
Stephen is predeceased by his beloved parents and brother-in-law, Thomas C. Sellers. He is survived by his cherished daughter Alexis (Darryl) Commerford and grandchildren Christopher, Jesse, and Ella Faith Jansen of Durham, NC. He was known for proudly showing off photos of his family and took every opportunity to do so.
In addition, Stephen leaves behind two sisters, Janine Sellers, and Robyn (Alan) Commerford; Nephew Matthew (Katrina) Sellers; and great niece, Edith. He will be endlessly missed by his best friend, Robbie Gilpin. Some of his fondest memories were of summers spent on Block Island with Robbie. Stephen also leaves behind two former wives, Andrea, mother to Alexis and Carol. He frequently spoke to his daughter about his memories with them.
He loved taking pictures, listening to music, collecting coins, fishing, and ziti dinners with his good friends Ed and Carol Dombrowski. He closely followed Nascar, Baseball, and Football.
Stephen was kindhearted, quick to forgive, and held no grudges. He was well-liked everywhere he went. He Always looked for the best in everyone and just wanted people to get along.
Cremation care will be provided by Brendan & Thomas Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, NY.
The Flynn family and Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center staff provide funeral care.
