Walter P. Sorocka

Walter P. Sorocka, a cherished soul whose warmth touched countless lives, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at Garnet Medical Center in Wallkill, N.Y. Born on November 9, 1952, Walter's life was marked by kindness, generosity, and a profound love for his Family and friends.

Walter could always be counted on to bring a smile to those around him.  He had a unique way of lighting up a room, whether through his infectious laughter or thoughtful conversations.  His dedication to those he loved was evident in every interaction and every moment shared, making the world a softer, more welcoming place for everyone fortunate enough to know him.

As we gather to honor and remember Walter, a wake will be held on February 13, 2026, followed by a Funeral Mass on February 14, 2026, at St. Columba R.C. Church, located at 27 High Street, Chester, NY.  Burial will follow at St. Columba R.C. Church.

Friends and Family will have the opportunity to share their memories and pay their respects during the visitation.  We will update the viewing times once th final obituary is completed.

Walter's gentle spirit and unwavering support will be profoundly missed, yet his memory will be celebrated in the hearts and stories of those he leaves behind.  As we navigate this difficult time, let us keep Walter and his Family in our prayers, honoring the rich legacy Walter has bestowed upon us all.  A complete obituary will be available on February 6, 2026.

The care of Walter has been entrusted to the Flynn Family and staff at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Center.  In this time of sorrow, the Family appreciates any condolences, as they reflect on a life so beautifully lived.
