James Michael Curtain

James Michael Curtain, a longtime resident of Blooming Grove, New York, died on July 14, 2026, at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He was 81 years of age.

The son of the late James and Loretta Conklin Curtain, he was born on April 16, 1945, in the Bronx.

James retired from the New York City Sanitation Department.

James was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris Conlon Curtain, in 2021.

He is survived by their children James, Michael, Kevin, and Mary, along with nine grandchildren.

Private family viewing will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers.

Cremation care will be provided by Brendan T. Flynn at Oxford Hills Crematory, Inc., Chester, NY.

A Memorial Mass will be held in August, and we will update our website once the date and time are confirmed.  After the Memorial Mass, Military Honors will be held at the Church.

The Family has entrusted the care of James to the Flynn Family and the staff of Flynn Funeral & Cremation Memorial Centers.
