Marilyn Hulse Prosser, a lifelong resident of Chester, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on December 17, 2025, at the age of 91.
Marilyn worked as the Troop Commander's secretary for Troop F in Middletown, NY, a job she loved from the first day to the last. She also worked as a Tax Collector for the Town of Chester for many years.
The daughter of the late Robert Hulse and Helen Freisinger Hulse, she was born on March 3, 1934, in Goshen, NY.
Marilyn started the Hambletonian Red Hat Society Chapter in Chester and proudly served as the Queen Bee for many years. She also served in the Chester Alumni Association, the Kiwanis Club, and the Republican Committee. Marilyn loved spending time with her family. She had many friends that she loved and enjoyed spending time with, especially cruising with her Summer Sisters every year. Marilyn enjoyed painting, crafting, quilting, crocheting, and scrapbooking. She was always ready for a party – planning, shopping, cooking, hosting- she loved every minute of it, and she loved Chester.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Stephen Giza of Walden, NY; her daughter, Sheryl Morrissey, and son-in-law, Gilbert Morrissey, of Montgomery; and her granddaughters, Kelly Gamma and her husband, Stephen Gamma, Megan Halayko and her husband, Brian Halayko, and Amanda Morrissey, all of Montgomery, NY.
